Choosing Fabric For UPHOLSTERY :

There are several things you need to keep in mind if you are interested in re-upholstering your FURNITURE. That's because if you just buy any type of fabric without considering things like thread count, STYLE, durability, color, and the like then you may find yourself re-upholstering the FURNITURE furniture again in no time.

Thread Count : Upholstery fabric is durable and will last for many years you will want to find a high thread count fabric. It will look better in your HOME , too. Even if you plan on re-upholstering in just a year or two you will still benefit from a high thread count fabric simply because it WEARS better.
Style : The STYLE of the fabric is really important and. Make sure the fabric will work well with other pieces of furniture and their respective upholstery, too.
Durability: If you are choosing a fabric for a piece of furniture that has lots of traffic you will need to choose upholstery that is tightly woven and really durable.
Color: Choose a color that hides dirt and stains and that will blend in well with your other furniture and the ROOM'S color SCHEME.

Also keep in mind that when SHOPPING for upholstery; ensure that the fabric is fade resistant and sunlight resistant too, because lots of fabric fade quite easily in sunlight. The last thing you want is to not have enough fabric to make stripes line up or to cover up the entire piece of furniture. It's always nice to have extra fabric should you need to make a patch later on.
